2019… Let’s Do This!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Are you guys pumped for 2019?! I know this may sound crazy, but a small part of me is excited that 2018 is over. There’s something so comforting about new beginnings and a fresh start and that’s exactly what I needed! So, here are my 5 realistic goals for 2019:

 1. Spend more time with my husband.

I know I don’t share my job with you guys very often, but I travel to Midland, Michigan for work Monday through Thursday every week. And since my husband travels on the weekends for his job, it’s so hard to spend quality time together! We do it because we both have our dream jobs and we’re a young couple pursuing our careers, but sometimes I just wish we had more time together, you know?! So, that’s at the top of my list for 2019: make more time to spend with my hubby.

 2.  Get into a workout ROUTINE.

When I was a cheerleader in college, my practice and workout schedule was regular and predictable. I always knew that I had practice on Mondays and Wednesdays, weight-lifting on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and games on the weekends. And I think the routine of it all helped me stay focused, motivated, and fit.

After graduating college, I still worked out frequently, but fitness sorta fell towards the bottom of my list. It’s like whenever I had the extra time to workout, I’d head to the gym or to Pure Barre, but I rarely planned it out in advance. So, my goal for 2019 is to plan out my workouts each week and get into a workout routine again!

 3. Grow my blog.

First of all, thank you so much for following along and taking this journey with me! The love and support I’ve felt from you guys since I launched just 2 months ago is absolutely INCREDIBLE and I can’t wait to share more with you this year. My 2019 goal is to post more consistently, write meaningful and helpful content, and reach more people.

So, here’s my question for you: What are you guys interested in? What are some things you’d like to see in 2019? Please comment below, send an email, or message me with your ideas and requests!

4Follow through with my skincare routine.

For the first time in my life I actually see signs of aging on my face and I want to scream!! Every year for the past 4 years I’ve started a new skincare routine and for some reason I have trouble sticking to it. I’ll get lazy and sleep in my makeup or I’ll forget moisturizer or whatever it might be – I am the worst when it comes to skincare. But, 2019 is my year!! I’m going to get super serious about skincare and actually stick to it! I’m staying young forever! Who’s with me??

 5. Stretch every day.

I used to be soo flexible! I could do a straight leg scorpion, get my splits all the way, and pull my leg behind my head! Because of cheer, I was always stretching and maintaining flexibility, but since I’ve graduated, I rarely stretch and I’ve noticed a difference in the way I feel waking up each morning. My muscles feel stiff and my lower back aches, so my goal is to stretch (even if it’s just for 1 minute!) every single day.

I know most New Year’s resolutions are abandoned by February or something crazy like that, but I want these to be the theme of 2019 for me. I’m going to check in with y’all each month to see if I’m actually following through! Do y’all think I can do it??

What are some of your New Year’s resolutions?!

I cheered my entire life, so I completely understand what you’re saying about your workout and stretching routine. Isn’t crazy how fast your body can change? In December I just started a workout routine and recently fell in love with kickboxing! It’s my new favorite way of getting in my cardio!

    Happy New Year!!

Yes – I’m so glad you understand! If you don’t use it, you lose it! I am starting the Kayla Itsines BBG Program, but once I’m finished I’d love to try kickboxing! That seems so fun and challenging! Happy New Year!

I love how your goals are so attainable and realistic. I feel that a lot of people set unrealistic goals and can’t stick with them for too long.
Side note: I actually grew up Midland. I hope you do enjoy it when you’re there! I know it’s super small haha!

I completely agree with you!! That’s why I tried to set realistic, sustainable goals. I really do want them to be the theme of my 2019! I’ll keep you posted if I’m able to keep them!
And you grew up in Midland?? What a small world. I do enjoy it, we stay in Bay City a lot and I think it’s adorable. I wish it was a few degrees warmer, but other than that – no complaints!!
