23 Things You Didn’t Know About Me

Pink Dress // David Yurman Bracelet // David Yurman Ring

Hey y’all, happy Friday!! Since today is my 23rd birthday, I wanted to share “23 things you didn’t know about me” as a fun way for you guys to get to know me better! I tried to share a mix of funny, unique, and personal facts, so I hope you enjoy and learn something new!

 1. I was adopted!

 2. My least favorite chore is matching the socks after doing laundry. I usually just leave them in the bottom of the laundry basket and wait until my husband runs out and matches them himself!

 3. I’m a four-time World Champion cheerleader! Have any of you guys been following my journey since then??

 4. Senior Year of high school, I was obsessed with NC State and I planned to go there to cheer. But when I was accepted to UNC Chapel Hill, my mom and dad told me I had to go to UNC instead and I was so upset that I ran away from home for 3 days. THANK YOU MOM & DAD – I owe you guys everything for forcing me to make the best decision of my life.

 5. I can fall asleep almost anywhere. If you follow my husband on Instagram, are you surprised??

 6. My first name is Sara! What do you guys think – do I look like a Sara??

 7. The Office now plays on repeat in my house, but when I first started watching the show, I really didn’t like it at all!

 8. My nose gets extremely red in the cold. My classmates called me Rudolph in elementary and middle school.

 9. In addition to my full-time job, I teach Pure Barre classes! I love it so much that I would do it full-time if I could!

 10. I’m extremely sensitive (I get it from my Momma). My husband always teases me about being too sensitive and says I need to get thicker skin to survive in the Switzer family.

 11. I chipped my front tooth on a Voss water bottle.

 12. If I could be anything in the world, I would be a singer! Performing is my passion and I love to sing, so it’s like the perfect career for me! The only problem is that, well, I can’t sing!

 13. I very rarely leave the house without mascara on.

 14. My love language is words of affirmation.

 15. My husband and I have our babies’ names picked out. Hopefully we have all girls like we planned because otherwise, it’s back to the drawing board for names!

 16. I’m a consultant for Ernst & Young (EY) and I travel every week for work.

 17. I’ve never seen The Wizard of Oz, Harry Potter, Bambi, Shrek, or many other childhood movie staples. I’ve really never been a movie person. I still find it difficult to sit down and watch movies!

 18. My most traumatic life event was an emergency surgery I had in college.

 19. I studied abroad in Finland, Russia, and Estonia.

 20. I have Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). I doubt you guys knew this one but, is anyone surprised?!

 21. I’ve never learned to appreciate downtime. I cannot just sit at home and watch TV or relax. I always like to be doing something. My “downtime” usually consists of me sitting at home planning in my agenda.

 22. When I was younger, I was diagnosed with Reactive Hypoglycemia, which is where my blood sugar drops quickly so, I would get in the worst “hangry” moods. When I was in one of those I’m hungry and having a meltdown moods, my friends would call me “GABLE.” Gable was like my alter-ego haha! Luckily, I learned to manage it and Gable rarely comes out anymore!

 23. I had a pet flying squirrel in high school. Her name was Cleo and I took her to school in this sleeping and bonding pouch.

I hope you guys enjoyed getting to know me a little bit better! And lastly, to settle the debate between me and my husband – is it Jordan year or Lebron year?? Comment and let us know!!

xoxo,

Gabie

Happy Birthday! I have enjoyed watching your journey with Ryan. Thanks for being so open. And it will always be Jordan over Lebron. There should be no argument especially since you both are Carolina alumni

Even though I’m a die hard Duke fan, I still say Jordan year. It would be so weird to say LeBron year. Also, I can really relate to #17, my friends think it is weird that I haven’t watched many classical movies but I never sat still as a child.
    Happy birthday Gabie!!
Ryan good luck to you next season…Go Steelers!

Yes, I agree 100% that it’s Jordan year! And the fact that you’re a Duke fan just proves that 23 is for Jordan! Also – I’m so glad you can relate to never having seen the classic childhood movies! Everyone thinks I’m crazy, but I’ve just never been a movie gal! It’s awful too because my husband could watch movies ALL DAY LONG!! Thank you so much for the Jordan Year birthday wishes! Go Steelers!
