Good evening and happy Sunday, everyone! Since I’ve been sharing more of my home updates lately, I thought it would be fun to do a blog post on how I’m decorating for fall! The house is still a work-in-progress, but all of these seasonal decorations make it feel so homey to me! Let’s start with the front porch.

I started by picking an autumn wreath (I LOVE the pomegranate and pinecone combination of this one, and it’s ON SALE). I’ve learned that faux decor is definitely an investment, but if you buy quality pieces, you can use them for years to come! Ever since we bought the house, I’ve been looking forward to fall so that I could break out the layered doormat look! I picked up this buffalo check rug from Kirkland’s to layer underneath my custom doormat. At first, I centered the doormat with the rug, but I wanted more of the buffalo check to show through. So, I pulled the rug out slightly and pushed the doormat up against the wall for a staggered look.
Next up, my planters! I’m obsessed with these blue pots. I feel like they bring my personality to the front door and add character to each season’s decor. I went to a local nursery (for my local people – Best Feeds Garden Centers in North Park) and picked up some Burgundy mums (I love the yellow centers, too!). I actually filled 4 pots of mums, but 2 of them died before I could share. PRO TIP: don’t forget to water your flowers. Finally, I picked up these pumpkins from Trader Joes. There’s this adorable pumpkin patch called Soergel’s Orchards near our house (here’s photos from last year). I can’t wait to take another family photo there this year with our newest addition!

Here’s a sneak peek of our dining room! This is my first dining room (we didn’t have one in any of our apartments) and I love it even more with fall decor. I started with this plaid table runner. I chose this pattern (as opposed to the pumpkin one) because I wanted it to last all the way through Thanksgiving. To save money, I used my regular dinner and salad plates and just picked up these small pumpkin appetizer plates to layer on top. And finally, the centerpiece makes the whole table! I think this faux sunflower bundle is STUNNING and brings the space to life!

And finally, here’s a few other ways I decorated around the house for fall. My favorite room so far is the sunroom! I love sitting in the swivel chair with a cup of coffee each morning to do my devotional. It’s the perfect way to start my day! The sunroom is also the only room in the house that’s complete. I’m ready to have the house finished, but I’ve fallen in love with the process. My husband, on the other hand, has not.. he wants the house finished, like yesterday haha!
How did I do on fall decorating for my first home??
Happy Sunday, y’all!
xoxo,
Gabie
