Hi friends! Happy Wednesday!! Are you guys ready for warmer weather?? Spring break and summer trips are quickly approaching so, I wanted to share my tips on how to stay fit while traveling! As a full-time traveler, I’ve figured out which fit tips work for me, so I hope some of these tricks work for you on your next trip as well!

Plan, plan, plan ahead

I cannot emphasize enough the importance of planning your workouts in advance! By scheduling the days and times of your workouts, you’re prioritizing your health and committing to your fitness goals! When I started planning my workouts in advance, I became so much more consistent. And as a result, I feel happier, healthier, and more accomplished.

Drink lots of water

If you’ve been following along on my Instagram, you know that I really struggle with drinking a lot of water! I actually just ordered this water bottle today to help me drink my goal of 60 oz of water per day. While you’re traveling, try to drink lots of water and ONLY water. It’s so tempting to order a soda or a cocktail with dinner when you’re out, but sticking to water will keep you hydrated and healthy.

Find a workout buddy

Does anyone else feel more motivated when working out in a group?! I know I do! One of the things I miss the most about being on a sports team is the community aspect (I talk more about it in this post). So, if you’re traveling with friends, family, or co-workers, invite them to join you! Even if you don’t do the same workout, just having the same gym schedule can provide motivation and accountability to stay fit on the road.

Pack healthy snacks

Eating healthy while traveling can be a real challenge, especially on travel days when you may not have access to healthy foods. Packing healthy snacks will prepare you for times in between meals when you’re hungry and help you resist the temptation of junk food (and trust me, you’ll be surrounded by it!). My favorite travel snacks are mixed nuts, trail mix, dried edamame, and Larabars!

Use a fitness app

Fitness apps are LIFE SAVERS while you’re traveling because you can work out anytime, anywhere! I’m currently using the Kayla Itsines Sweat app and I’ve used it to work out in my hotel gym, hotel room, and on the beach. The flexibility of a fitness app gives you NO EXCUSES to skip a workout and offers all you need to stay fit on the road.

Staying fit while traveling requires discipline and consistency, but the sense of accomplishment you’ll feel after making healthy choices on a trip is sooo worth it, you guys!

Gabie

P.S. Ryan and I are headed somewhere warm this weekend – any guesses where we’re going??
