Miami Beach Travel Guide

Hey y’all, happy Saturday! How’s your weekend going so far?! I’ve been so productive today and I LOVE it! There’s just something about the sunshine that makes me happy and motivated to get things done!

As I mentioned in Tuesday’s post, I was working in sunny Houston all last week and it made me miss the warmth in Miami! So, tonight I’m sharing the details of our weekend getaway in a Miami Beach travel guide!

Where to stay

Fontainebleau Miami Beach Resort. We stayed at Fontainebleau in Miami Beach and honestly, I could not imagine staying anywhere else if we returned! The hotel was grand and immaculate with such a fun atmosphere! The property is HUGE (no really, it’s 22 acres.. Ryan and I got lost twice on our first day) and has so many amenities that you wouldn’t need to leave the resort the entire trip if you didn’t want to. We stayed in an oceanfront suite in the Sorrento tower, which was absolutely over-the-top amazing!! Each morning I’d have my coffee on the oversized patio looking out at the ocean and it was just so peaceful. In the evenings, Ryan and I would take a walk on the resort’s boardwalk, which is a dark stained wood path surrounded by lush greenery. It was so romantic, I wish we could do it over again tonight! Fontainebleau was a stunning resort and it made our Miami Beach weekend getaway feel like a dream!

What to do

Have lunch on Ocean Drive. On Sunday, Ryan and I packed the car and headed to South Beach for the afternoon. Our first stop: Ocean Drive, an iconic Miami Beach street central to the city’s culture. I loved having lunch on Ocean Drive because you can see the beach, people-watch, and be entertained all from your table! Most of the restaurants offer outdoor seating, so I strongly recommend grabbing a table outside (don’t forget to pack your sunglasses!).

Take a stroll on the Miami Beach Walk. One of my favorite memories from our Miami weekend getaway was strolling along this beautiful beach-side path. You’ll see palm trees and sand, tourists and locals, bikers and roller-bladers, and you can hop right on the beach through several beach access points along the way.

Go to the spa. Since it was raining on Saturday, we decided to take our vacation indoors to the Lapis Spa, which was soo nice and relaxing. We did the Bleau Heaven For Two couple’s massage and it was an absolute dream. Because of his job, Ryan is VERY critical of massages, but even he said they did a fantastic job! I highly recommend this spa for a relaxing time in Miami!

Where to eat

StripSteak. No joke, StripSteak is hands down THE best restaurant I’ve ever been to! If you’re a steak fan, this an absolute MUST while in Miami. The steak was so flavorful, the seafood was fresh, and they had truffle butter infused bread!! Can you tell I’m obsessed with this place!? Try the filet, jumbo gulf shrimp, and whipped Yukon gold potatoes… You’ll thank me later!!

The Carlyle Cafe. Ryan and I always struggle to agree on a restaurant around lunchtime – I prefer brunch and he prefers lunch. So, if you’re looking for a casual lunch spot that serves both, you should check out The Carlyle Cafe in South Beach. It’s right on Ocean Drive too, so you can hop on the Beach Walk or head to the sea afterwards!

Prime 112. We made a reservation at Prime 112 for my birthday dinner on Friday (as you can tell we love steak) and it was such a cute restaurant! My favorite part was the elevated, outdoor patio seating. We had to walk up a few stairs to get to the table, so we were seated slightly above street level. It was the perfect set up with great food and ambiance.

Final Recommendation

Overall, I do recommend a weekend trip to Miami Beach! Contrary to what you might expect from a weekend in Miami, we had a very peaceful and relaxing getaway. Ryan and I aren’t really party people, so we didn’t explore the nightlife, but I have to admit that the Miami nightlife looked so crazy and fun from afar! Maybe we’ll check it out next time!

We’ve only been home for a few days and we’re already craving another vacation… Where should we go next?? Comment below and let us know your recommendations!

xoxo,

Gabie
